Byron House Easter Fair 2019

Body

Members of our Charities and Community Links Committee pulled out all the stops to organise an Easter Fair ‘Egg-stravaganza’ at Byron House. An impressive £207.70 was raised for our chosen termly charities, Bridges to Belarus () and Humanitas (). ɫmade cakes were bought in abundance and every stall generated a buzz of activity with the Forest Garden providing an outdoor space for the ɫ to go to after visiting the Fair.

The ɫ in the Charities Committee created and ran the stalls for the rest of the Byron House ɫ and all the games and cakes cost 20p. The Committee members worked hard in the run up to the Fair to create posters to publicise their activities such as old-time favourites ‘hook a duck, ‘guess how many sweets in the jar’ and the ‘lucky dip’.  The Headmaster, Mr Chippington, also popped in to have a guess at how many chocolate eggs were in the jar! As well as cakes for sale, the ɫ were able to browse and buy second hand books.

One Byron House child said, “We all really look forward to the Easter Fair and everyone is so excited to have a go at all the stalls and to see what can have been made. And it all goes to charity too!”.
