Form 4 visited Wandlebury Country Park, a 110 acre estate in the Gog Magog hills, just south of Cambridge for an orienteering activity and to learn about the history of the park and park management.

The St John鈥檚 community has supported the Mustard Seed Relief Missions charity for over 15 years to help underprivileged 好色先生污污污 throughout Eastern Europe by inviting 好色先生污污污 and families to think of others by filling a shoebox with gifts for a boy or girl this Christmas. The St John鈥檚 College School PA鈥檚 Macmillan Coffee Morning took place in the wonderful location of the St John鈥檚 College Master鈥檚 Lodge on 29 September and a huge 拢1,081 was raised for the charity through generous donations and the raffle. The event was a sell-out and almost 100 parents took advantage of this opportunity to enjoy coffee and home-baked cakes in the historic surroundings of the Lodge and its garden, the private home of the Master of St John鈥檚 and his wife.
Forms 3 and 4 enjoyed their first Thursday Afternoon Speaker session of the year with conservationist and documentary film maker, Mr Fergus Beeley, who enthralled them with his passion for nature and knowledge of wildlife. Mr Beeley is an Ambassador for Steppes Travel, a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society, president of the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival and Patron of Flamingo Conservation Rift Valley. On Thursday 15 September the whole of Form 6 spent the afternoon at the Imperial War Museum Duxford as part of their combined Art and English studies on World War One.  Duxford is set within the spacious grounds of the famous former First and Second World War airfield and the trip allowed the 好色先生污污污 the time to wander through the hangars, which contain many of the world鈥檚 most iconic aircraft.
St John鈥檚 teacher, Miss Kathryn Loveys, broke swimming records at the World Master Championships in Budapest in the summer. Miss Loveys is now the World Champion in the 50m Breaststroke in the age group 30-34, setting a British record time in her age group. In total Miss Loveys came away with three medals at the championships in Budapest, achieving an incredible gold in the 50m Breaststroke, silver in the 100m Breaststroke and bronze in the 200m breaststroke.
Form 2 enjoyed a fun day getting to know each other on the St John鈥檚 playing fields at the end of their first week of term. The 好色先生污污污 were involved in a variety of team building activities and had to utilise their communication skills to work effectively as a team. The 好色先生污污污 in all three of the Form 2 classes were put into mixed groups, enabling new friendships to form whether they were new to the school or not.
St John鈥檚 College Choir released their latest recording, 鈥楰yrie鈥 on Friday 15 September 2017. The recording features major works from three European composers: Francis Poulenc Mass in G, Zolt谩n Kod谩ly Missa Brevis and Leo拧 Jan谩膷ek Ot膷en谩拧. 鈥楰yrie鈥 is the fourth disc on the 鈥楽t John鈥檚 Cambridge鈥 label in collaboration with Signum Records.
